Africa investor (Ai) today confirmed that Dr. Hubert Danso, its CEO and Chairman, and the Chairman of the African Union’s Continental Business Network (CBN) and the African Green Infrastructure Investment Bank (AfGIIB), has been appointed to Co-Chair the Africa Investment Earthshot.

The Africa Investment Earthshot is a collaborative platform founded by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Africa Europe Foundation (AEF), Africa investor (Ai), The B-team, World Resources Institute (WRI), and Climate Action Platform Africa (CAP-A), to catalyse investments at scale to realise Africa’s green industrialisation potential.

The Africa Investment Earthshot’s mission is to drive a process to accelerate the investablilty of Africa’s green industrial transformation, that serves both Africa and the world – by unlocking investment into bankable green industrial infrastructure investment opportunities, incentivised through green industrial cities, implemented through institutional investor-public partnerships (IIPPs).

Dr Danso Co-chairs the Africa Investment Earthshot with Mary Robinson, the former President of Ireland.

Dr Danso’s role as Co-Chair, will be to share his vast institutional investment expertise and green infrastructure investment experience, to assist in identifying private capital mobilization pathways, highlighting the innovative green industrial cities model of the African Green Infrastructure Investment Bank (AfGIIB), which is rapidly establishing African Green Industrial Infrastructure, as a globally competitive investable asset class, through institutional investor-public partnerships (IIPPs).
