Africa investor (Ai) today confirmed that Dr. Hubert Danso, its CEO and Chairman, and the Chairman of the African Union’s Continental Business Network (CBN) and the African Green Infrastructure Investment Bank (AfGIIB), has been appointed to the World Benchmarking Alliance’s (WBA) Just Transition Advisory Group (JTAG).

The Just Transition Advisory Group (JTAG) was established by the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), an international non-profit organisation, dedicated to incentivising corporate contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through freely available and public benchmarks.

The JTAG constitutes a high-level knowledgeable group of public, private and civil society leaders that represent a variety of stakeholder groups and regions, providing leadership on corporate contributions to the just transition.

The JTAG’s mandate is to advise on and support develop and implement WBA’s Just Transition Assessments. WBA’s Just Transition Assessments are the first of their kind; publicly available and free rankings on what high-emitting companies are doing to respect the rights of workers, communities and the most vulnerable as they work towards their low-carbon goals.

Dr Danso as a member of the JTAG, will contribute his vast institutional investment experience and offer strategic guidance to ensure the indicators and assessments create impact and drive change across emerging markets and developing countries, especially those on the African continent.
